Madeline asked me what my place looks like.
It's rather suburban, if there is such a thing in Bangkok... not super close to the centre of the city but an easy boat trip down the San Saeb Canal. There are quite a few buses that go to the centre of the city here too, but they go unfathomably indirect routes and there are no limited stop versions.
Here are some photos of my very immediate neighbourhood.
