Dunlop Volleys

Dunlop volleys, size 5, something similar will do...
I didn't imagine what an ordeal it would be to get a pair of canvas shoes.
I searched and searched and searched. Posh shops, markets, department stores, K-mart equivalents. And I searched.
Had my foot been size 40 - perhaps UK 6.5, I could have considered myself a man and bought relatively hassle free. Women in Thailand wear sparkles, straps, glitter, beads, pointy toed, pointy heeled, embroidered, bedazzled, bejeweled sandals, flip flops ( I daren't use thongs).
They do not do dunlop volleys. Much like Japanese women don't do doc martens. Mens shoes.

After considerable wandering I found Converse do smaller sizings. Hurrah for Converse. I don't think they are fake, but even if they are I don't care; they fit!

Docs, which I would usually wear, do not suit the rainy season. Sandals which would be my other option are unsuitable for wet season mosquito country.

Hurrah again for converse !
Perhaps I should give Dunlop a heads up on the niche market available here.
