After my trip to the temple I met up with some of the teachers from school - some who were just arrived, one who was leaving and Vickie. It was a pleasant evening, though I didn't stay long as I had an apartment to tidy and a landlady arriving in the morning to give back my bond.
My bond was returned, despite the fact the place was not empty :). The landlady arrived late so I didn't get time to get to the PO before meeting my students up at the Mall. (Had I been more switched on I would have gone to the PO regardless since many people were on Thai time and we waiting 30 mins or so till everyone gathered.) The year 11s are so nice. I taught about 36 of them and 19 were there - some are still overseas and others had classes, I got notes / calls from some others saying they were sorry they couldn't be there. We had lunch at Sukushi - a Japanese shabu shabu (hot pot) restaurant followed by a movie. The boys wanted to see an action movie, the girls a"frienship story". I abdicated all responsibility and said so long as it was not horror anything would be fine (though after seeing John Travolta in the Avenger? or the Punisher? several years ago) I was quietly relieved when the friendship movie won out over the John Travolta action. flick. It was good fun.
Lunch and movies was followed by meeting up with Vickie and Irina for a last hurrah. They have been great company.
Joanna, an Indian colleague has been around this morning to collect odds and sods like pillows, my table cloth, bed lamp etc. After a trip to the PO I will be just about done.
