4th June

Just as an aside, before I begin, yesterday was the 20th anniversary of Tiananmen Square. There have been unofficial rumblings that a reassessment may not be too far away for the Chinese govt. I got a big of a start when I read on the 4th or 5th ''China mourning" - esp as no private memorial services for the Sichuan earthquake victims were allowed. I read the rest of the headline - China is mourning the death of 7 or so victims of the Air France air crash.... Unsprisingly not a mention on the front page about Tiananmen ... I didnt look further through it but anything official seems a world away.
